New Player MvP and Leveling Guide

Introduction

Hello everyone Mirecsk here

I want to give you my very simple guide for starting with MvPs

MvPs are simply said bosses and at IdunRO they have been buffed so they have a power level more balanced towards the players. My guide will talk about special abilities, tactics and gear. Note- this is not any in-depth guide for stronger MvPs!

MvPs i was able to kill with this setup:

Eddga - without using potions
Garm - 2-3 berries
Dracula- 1-2 berries
Maya - 1-2 berries
Atroce - 1 berry
Orc Hero- 10 berries +-
Lord of death - 10 berries +-
Phreeoni- 1-2 berries

Classes

-many of you are probably thinking SinX but we are not gonna focus on Sinx in this guide but the class we will use is Star Gladiator. Star Gladiator is a class that uses books as their weapon and focuses on auto attacks. Crit strike paired up with their skill "warmth of the sun/moon/stars" packs quite a punch. Star Gladiators have a special "mechanic" which is called miracle. Miracle at IdunRo has 1% chance to trigger any time we deal damage. When active we get lots and lots of bonuses - I will specify in the skills section.

Skills

-we do not use many skills to fight with MvPs we mostly use passive effects

Active abilities

* Mild Wind - changes our weapon element depending on skill lvl
* Flying Side kick- use this to get closer to the mvp
* Leap- use this to get away from max pain - in the later section
* Warmth- this is a spell that makes you automatically deal damage to enemies within certain radius at 199 aspd. The only requirement is that the map you are on is marked by sun/moon/stars accordingly to which Warmth you are using. Drains your mana while hitting mobs
* Comfort- minor bonuses to dmg reduction, flee and aspd. use them once you proc miracle

Passive abilities

* Miracle- most important mechanic! once you proc miracle your character starts glowing as if under soul link effect and it is also visible in the buff section. When miracle procs it lasts for 1 minute and makes every monster on the map being marked as a stellar mob which allows us to use some other benefits. As well as that it makes the map we are currently in stellar, lunar and solar marked which lets us use Warmth and Comfort abilities
* Wrath- this passive allows us to deal more damage based on luk dex and base level to marked enemies as Solar / Stellar / Lunar marked- this is where most of our damage comes from!!!!! an example- without miracle I deal 1700damage / attack to dummy, after miracle I deal 7000damage thanks to Wrath

Passive mechanics

We rely on SP and HP leech from various sources such as hunter fly cards and incubus pet/succubus pet (for those who have dracula card go ahead)

Gear

* Head- ideally black valkyrie helmet (budget option Magnis cap )
* Middle head- colloured flame (depending on what element you need to resist- ideally white for neutral) can be done without
* Lower head- black butterfly wings, can be done without
* Armor- Odins blessing
* Shield- Valkyrie shield - if you do not have this you can use stone buckler but it shouldnt be too hard/strong shield (explained later)
* Weapon- Encyclopedia for crit / Book of the apocalypse for low def monsters
* Garment- Valis manteau
* Footgear- Vidar shoes
* Accessory- Ring ( the one with +2 str)

Pet Eggs

1370.gif Succubus
1374.gif      Incubus

Cards

* Head- Vanberk / Orc Hero
* Armor- Porcellio for dmg / Evil druid, Swordfish, Pasana, Angeling, Bathory... for damage reduction
* Shield- Medusa- for phreeoni, Thara frog, Penomena, Khalitzburg, Bigfoot, Orc Warrior, Teddy Bear for corresponding MvP and adds race
* Weapon- 2x Abysmal knight, 2x Hunter fly card
* Garment- Raydric, occasionaly Jakk/Marse/Hode/dustiness
* Footgear- Matyr/Green ferus/Firelock Soldier
* Accessory- 2x Mantis, Horong for Phreeoni

Stats(yours might be different according to your gear)

* STR 199

* AGI 116

* VIT 50

* INT 30

* DEX 162

* LUK 162

Strategy

-Very simple, you find an mvp, then you proc miracle on random mobs around you, you use mild wind to deal more dmg to the MvP, you use Warmth and Comfort and you left click the mvp. Some mvps knock you back, reposition yourself using Leap / Fly kick so that your Warmth is hitting them.

Under 30% hp many MVPs use skill called Max Pain. It makes it so that you reflect all the dmg you deal to yourself. The MVP is glowing yellow under this effect and they use it 2x- first they use it when they hit you and then they use it while chasing you. After using it they have 50 seconds cooldown which is the time to kill them. During the time Max Pain is active I just leap around and after the MVP is back to normal I Fly kick in to finish the MVP. If you ever have your HP/sp low you can use a berry to heal yourself up. Using hunter fly cards and incubus pet we heal a lot but sometimes its not enough. Each MVP from the mentioned has 1 strong ability with a long cooldown try to use berries after this ability.

Survivability

This build does not focus on damage but on survivability using Hunter fly and incubus/succubus pets. Feel free to change anything from the build but this has been working for me. Note- dont use more than 2 Hunter fly cards if you use more it invalidates all of them.

If you have any questions feel free to message me on discord or in game :) Happy hunting !

Leveling

-Small Leveling Guide for new players!

+1.

 -Get your starter gear from Delwago's Questline.

+2.

 -Choose an easy starting class such as:
    #High Wizard
    #Star Gladiator
    #High Priest
    #Sniper

+3.

 -After choosing the right class, you can start either just slaying random monsters and getting good EXP or you can party up with other people!
 -Partying up with other people gives greater EXP. The more players are in a party, and the more players are tagging a monster (atleast one autoattack on the monster) the more rewarding it will be!

+4.

 -An alternative way of leveling would be the 'Hunting Mission'. This NPC is located on the southern part of Askald! (or by warping to it via the Guide NPC)
 -Finishing one of those quests will give you EXP and Quest Points, those points can be spend for various items - such as: EXP Books, Gym Pass etc.

+5

 -As you already found out, the leveling gets harder upon reaching 99+ this is to encourage people to engage with other players and party up!

-This is not a must have! You can always choose the alternative way of leveling and doing your Solo Hunting Missions or grinding by yourself.

 -Once you chose your class and reached 99+, you should start min/maxing your gear to get the best outcome out of it!
 Example as a Sniper:
   +Frozen Bow with 4 Vadon Cards
   +Random Garment with 1 Jakk Card
   +Random Armor with 1 Pasana Card
   +Crystal Arrows
 with this build you would do enough DMG to kill Kasa's and get great EXP!
 (at the same time you can make some good Zeny by selling the Lucius's Fierce Armor of Volcano)

+6

 -Upon reaching level 155 you can ask someone to leech you to the maximum level, on Idun the level gap is 100 levels.

+7

 -Consider to boost some classes yourself by mutli-clienting such as a Whitesmith, could be easily boosted with a Priest slaying Anubis with the Skill Turn Undead.

+8

 -Always check for the Race of the Day or if the Rigged Rates are active. This allows players to get more EXP from a certain Race or more EXP in general.
